Havana, Oct 22.- Through videoconference, the Council of State of the Republic of Cuba met in the Capitol, in a session chaired by Esteban Lazo Hernández, with the presence of Miguel Díaz- Canel Bermúdez, President of the Republic, and Manuel Marrero Cruz, Prime Minister.
In compliance with one of its constitutional powers, the Council of State analyzed the four draft laws that will be submitted to the consideration of the National Assembly of People's Power (Parliament) in the V Ordinary Period of Sessions, on October 28.
The projects mentioned correspond to the laws of the Foreign Service; Revocation of those elected to the organs of People's rePower; Organization and Functioning of the Council of Ministers; and the President and Vice President of the Republic.
The session agreed on the quality of the legislative projects, in which specialists from various institutions have participated, and how important they are, since with their approval the state structure at the national level would already have its normative base.
In the same way, it agreed to indicate to the local administrations to adopt the pertinent measures to, in the midst of the current limitations of resources, achieve greater satisfaction in the population with its management.
The Council of State also approved the Regulations for the Operation of the Auxiliary Offices of the National Assembly of People's Power and the Council of State, a structure that has the fundamental mission of assisting those bodies in the performance of their functions.
For the second time, this body analyzed the requests presented by the Municipal Assemblies of People's Power regarding the professionalization of some of the presidents of their permanent work commissions.
Regarding this matter, the participants agreed that, in a general sense, the recommendations given by the Council of State were observed, taking into account the decrease in the requests initially presented by the Municipal Assemblies of People's Power, but it was reiterated that these analyzes were they must continue to do so with due rationality in each case.
With the professionalization of some presidents of permanent work commissions of the Municipal Assemblies of People's Power, the work of these bodies continues to be strengthened, fundamentally in the control of municipal subordinate entities, and compliance with policies that are implemented for the benefit of the population.
The Council of State, at the proposal of the President of the Supreme People's Court, also agreed to extend the current mandate of lay judges, until the new law of that institution is approved, and to carry out the next election process in accordance with its provisions.
It was also decided to make some adjustments to the regulations regarding the use of the Gold Star of Labor medal, which constitutes the representative insignia of the Title of Hero of Labor of the Republic of Cuba. (ACN) (Photo: Cuban Parliament website http://www.parlacionescubano.gob.cu )
