Havana, Jan. 15.- The National Institute of Sports, Physical Education and Recreation (INDER) issued a press release that reports on the suspension of national and international tournaments scheduled for the first quarter of 2021, taking into account the sanitary hygiene panorama imposed by Covid-19.
Jit publishes in its digital edition that the INDER highlights that the measure adheres to the priority assigned to the protocols required to confront the pandemic throughout the country and gives continuity to what has already been established in the matter of cancellation and / or postponement of contests competitive and otherwise during 2020.
It involves conflicts of various categories and sports, as well as races and recreational festivals, whose organizers will value the option of using the virtual format, according to its characteristics, scope and possibilities of adjustment to that area.
Among the events to be held in this period are the national championships of Chess, Soccer, Taekwondo and Baseball under 23 and youth (17-18 years), and those of Parapesas and Parataekwondo.
We reiterate that, as an exception, intensive work is being done to ensure that the 60th National Baseball Series closes the stage of pending matches and lives its postseason under the "bubble" system, in order to avoid contagion.
INDER will promptly evaluate possible rescheduling, while continuing to work with the authorities of the Ministry of Public Health to coordinate other actions required by the situation. (ACN) (Photo: File)
